Our Philosophy
Traditional Oriental Medicine has its origin in ancient Taoist philosophy which views a person as an energy system in which body and mind are unified, each influencing and balancing the other. Unlike allopathic medicine which attempts to isolate and separate a disease from a person, Oriental medicine emphasizes a holistic approach that treats the whole body. We believe that acupuncture, along with herbal therapy, cupping, moxa and nutrition are the key tools to wellness. Many people have found Traditional Oriental methods of healing to be excellent tools for maintaining Optimum health and preventing illness. Traditional Asian Medicine is effective for physical, psychological and emotional conditions.

ABOUT THE PRACTITIONER

Jay Yu L.Ac.
Jay Yu is a primary healthcare provider licensed by committee of the California board of medical quality assurance. He has worked in the field of natural medicine as herbalist and acupuncturist. He has been receiving extensive training from senior physician who has over 20 years of medical experience in myofascial pain. He has earned the distinction of being an outstanding doctor in the field of natural medicine. He has been helping people get out of pain using natural, drug and surgery free, techniques. Jay Yu strongly believes that no two people are alike and no two problems are treated in exactly the same way.

Jay Yu is one of a few acupuncturists in Southern California who practices unique technique in differentiating disease. With his special technique in differentiating diseases, he can find the root of the problem and he can treat several conditions at once. Jay Yu has had the privilege and experience of working with and being exposed to many different types of acupuncture practices. He has been working in a high volume practices that see in excess of 100 patients per day. On the other hand, he has seen a low volume practice that requires great focus and time on each patient. He has learned that quality is sacrificed when there is too much quantity.

Therefore, Jay Yu’s mission is to help individuals reach their optimal level of health by providing the highest quality of acupuncture care possible. This will be accomplished through acupuncture, herbs, patient education on wellness and personalized attention for each person.
